Indiana's Early Bird Pilot

Location: Daviess County Airport, Sugarland Road, NE of Washington. (Daviess County, Indiana)

Roderick M. Wright (1887-1960), one of Indiana's first pilots, received Federation Aeronautique Internationale pilot license No. 254 in 1913. Member of Early Birds, a national group of pilots who flew solo between 1903 and 1916. He was a flight instructor and a test, charter, and cargo pilot. Served in Indiana General Assembly, 1953-1957.
