Legacy Projects > Nickel Plate Trail Expansion – Bicentennial Nature Trust Nickel Plate Trail Expansion – Bicentennial Nature Trust

Acquisition of approximately 65 acres in Miami County to extend the Nickel Plate Trail by 6.5 miles.  The purchase extends west from Bunker Hill to connect with the Grissom Air Museum along US 31, and east to the town of McGrawsville, passing the Maconaquah school complex along the way.  Completion of this project will be a major step toward connecting Indiana’s two longest rail trails (the Nickel Plate and the Cardinal Greenway.
