Legacy Projects > Muster on the Wabash (2015) Muster on the Wabash (2015)

The Muster on the Wabash reaches into history which laid the groundwork for what would become the state of Indiana. The development of the Indiana Territory relied on new settlements and access to lands held by Native Americans. While the time was detrimental to the Indian Nations it was essential to the progress toward statehood. Both sides of this story are explored at this event through programming, presentations, and representations by re-enactors. The event also has programs and presentations looking at the larger story of the War of 1812 and how that impacted the still new nation and the development of the American west. Many counties, streets, and towns within the state are named for individuals who participated in this conflict.
