Legacy Projects > Art and Nature Richmond Art Museum Art and Nature Richmond Art Museum

The Richmond Art Museum, Richmond, Indiana is hosting an exhibition by noted Indiana ‘plein air’ artist, Rick Wilson. And ardent supporter of Indiana’s state parks, Wilson will document the beautiful landscape of Indiana by painting scenes from each one of the 24 state parks as well as several recreations areas and Fish and Wildlife areas in Indiana. The exhibition will open at the Richmond Art Museum and Cope Environmental Center, Centerville, Indiana, and be made available to other venues across Indiana.

Along with the exhibition, a brochure/book and documentary video will be developed to record the process of painting the different locations but to also document the history of the state park system. Interns will be used from nearby universities including Earlham College and Indiana University East. The video would be promoted to all of Indiana’s public television venues and other interested media outlet. Copies of the brochure and DVD will be made available for purchase.
