Legacy Projects > Restoration in Peace Historic Cemetery Preservation Program Restoration in Peace Historic Cemetery Preservation Program

The Restoration in Peace Historic Cemetery Preservation Program is a pilot program to develop an effective and sustainable way to restore, preserve and perpetually maintain Wayne County’s historic cemeteries for generations to come. The Wayne County Foundation, Wayne County’s Township Trustees and Western Wayne Heritage have teamed up on this project to develop a pool of professionally trained community volunteers and loanable restoration resources that can be brought to the aid of any historic cemetery in Wayne County.

Western Wayne Heritage exists to preserve the history and architecture of the western half of Wayne County through advocacy, education and interpretation. Our programs serve visitors, school children and community members. There is no greater concentration of history than in our cemeteries.
