Legacy Projects > 19 Historical Steps to Statehood 19 Historical Steps to Statehood

Photo 1

Students in grades 1-6 will participate in a variety of different activities in the art room that will include brainstorming historical content, authentic research, concrete pouring, clay slab building, ceramic glazing techniques and a celebratory presentation upon completion of a project. 19 Historical Steps to Statehood is an enhancing hop, skip and walking path for the whole family to enjoy. As you step upon each concrete foundation you will discover a fact about what makes Indiana a great state. Be prepared for an eye opening artistic adventure as you travel the stepping stone path, touch with your hands, open your hearts and challenge your imagination. Each stone image celebrated Indiana’s culture, contributions and honest to goodness great Indiana citizens. Step 19 leads you to a clay totem pole that displays all of the Indiana state symbols.
