Legacy Projects > Harris Cabin Restoration Harris Cabin Restoration

Hillforest Historical Foundation, Aurora, is currently restoring the Harris Cabin, an original 1820s log cabin located next door to Hillforest Victorian House Museum, with the purpose of opening it to the public for “hands on” educational tours and programs, interpreting early nineteenth-century pioneer life along the Ohio River. Target for completed restoration is spring 2016. To celebrate Indiana’s Bicentennial, a free “living history” Pioneer Day for Kids is planned at the Harris Cabin, May 14, 2016, with pioneer crafts, skills, games, and musical activities for the entire family.
