Legacy Projects > Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival

The Indiana Bicentennial Legacy focuses on celebrating Indiana heritage in the past and present, and that is exactly what the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival celebrates. The festival praises Auburn and Indiana heritage by celebrating the town’s history with a modern and present day annual festival. The ACD Festival will benefit the 2016 Indiana Bicentennial by celebrating Indiana history and heritage.

The ACD festival praises the rich history of the classic car industry in Indiana. When Indiana will be celebrating their 200th birthday the ACD festival will be celebrating their 60th birthday, the festival began in 1956 will the idea of preserving the history of the Auburn car. The Auburn Company was started by the Eckhart brothers and was headquartered in Auburn, Indiana, later the company was sold to E.L Cord, who partnered with Duesenberg Corporation, giving the festival and local museum their names. During the week of the festival all nine of our local history museums are open for visitors.  The preservation of the town of Auburn’s heritage shows the strong Hoosier pride and integrity the festival has for Indiana history.
