The Huntington County Historical Society State Bicentennial Project is a speaker’s series that will educate our citizens as we celebrate Indiana’s rich history. The series will focus on different elements of Indiana’s history through the year of 2016, prior to Statehood Day.

Q&A with Legacy Project Coordinator Gib Young

What do you consider the key accomplishment of your Legacy Project?

  • We brought four quality programs on Indiana Heritage to more people than the historical society had ever done before. We shared history in a very entertaining manner.

Describe a highlight or most memorable moment related to your Legacy Project.

  • Each program was different enough that we had special moments in each but I would have to say the best moments were the interaction of the audience and those who made each presentation afterward. Everyone seemed to have a story to share or questions to ask.

How/where are you preserving information and artifacts related to your Legacy Project?

  • We are keeping a video and work book on the project at the museum.

Total number of volunteers who participated.

  • Between 15 and 20

Estimated total attendance.

  • Around 800
