The IEHA Bicentennial Beach Walk will begin at Washington Park Beach with participants walking to Sheridan Beach and continuing to the end of The Esplanade. In total an approx. 2.0 mile long stretch one-way along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The Sheridan Beach/Esplanade area has been part of a Public Access, Land Management and Implementation Plan. The primary goal of the Public Access Plan is to facilitate access to and from the beach for multiple user groups in a way that minimizes damage to sensitive dune habitat, respects the privacy of neighbors and helps the community appreciate the dunes, beach and lake.
