Legacy Projects > Sassafras Tea Festival and Civil War Living History Sassafras Tea Festival and Civil War Living History

The Sassafras Tea Festival and Civil War History is an annual event that recreates historical events that took place during the Civil War era. Hundreds of re enactors and performing artists teach the rich heritage of Jennings County and Indiana. The Society’s working blacksmith shop and museum offer hands on learning for youth in old time arts. First person interpreters perform skits recreating historical events throughout the two day events. Over 7,000 artifacts are on display in the museum depicting the evolution of Jennings County and Indiana over the past 200 years.
