Legacy Projects > A History of Indiana License Plates from 1905 to the Present A History of Indiana License Plates from 1905 to the Present

License Plates

The displays of 110 years of Indiana license plates will reflect a significant part of Indiana’s motoring history, the expansion and ease of transportation and its growth from the Lincoln Highway to our modern interstates. Some plates demonstrate the state’s contribution to metal saving during WWII and the modern use of plates to promote Indiana’s economy and culture.
