Legacy Projects > Indiana Bicentennial Celebration/Covington Indiana Bicentennial Celebration/Covington

Our project includes something for each of the four pillars. Community Involvement – Covington will build a Bicentennial Gazebo for use during the celebration as a lasting legacy for the future. It will be located on or near Courthouse Square. Historical Celebration – Bicentennial birthday party with cakes donated by various organizations and businesses will be served as part of Indiana’s celebration of Statehood. Youth and Education – Elementary children will perform a rap song of historic facts and events. Nature Conservation – A state tree will be planted. The day of celebration will be October 12, the day the torch passes through Fountain County at Covington.
