In celebration of Indiana’s Bicentennial, the Tippecanoe County Historical Association, in partnership with Purdue University Galleries, will present to the community the exhibit “George Winter: Reflections on the Native Peoples of Early Indiana”. This exhibit will showcase works from the Historical Association’s permanent collection by Indiana artist George Winter. This exhibit and the lectures and workshops associated with it will be at Purdue University’s Fountain Gallery, 330 Main St., Lafayette, IN. It will open to the public Tuesday, June21st and close August 13th. The gallery is open daily at noon to 7:00 p.m. except Sunday and Monday. Watercolors, drawings, paintings and manuscripts of this important 19th century artist will be on exhibit. Winter documented the cultures of the Miami and Potawatomi Indians in Indiana and their eventual forced relocation.
