Legacy Projects > Newburgh Remembers Newburgh Remembers

To commemorate Indiana’s 200th anniversary of Statehood, the Newburgh Museum will be hosting a 3 day event that includes: recreation of the raid on Newburgh in 1862, encampment of 100 soldiers, settlers village selling food, hats, soap and baskets, home tour, historical trial re-enactment, cotillion period dance and dinner, ladies afternoon tea, bread and mustache growing contest, laying of wreaths and flags on graves of civil war soldiers, music venue with civil war songs, and a civil war movie night. As we celebrate the rich history of Warrick County and Newburgh, we hope to educate our residents of the role our county played in the history of Indiana.
