Throughout 2016 the Whiting County Public Library will be hosting several programs that highlight Indiana’s rich history, artists, athletes and institutions. All of these programs will be open to the public at no cost. In addition, the Indiana State Library Public Service Speaker’s Bureau will present these programs to the Whiting Public Library for free. In addition, the Whiting Public Library will be integrating the state’s 200 year celebration into its Adult Summer Reading Program. The slogan for the program will be, “Celebrate the Bicentennial with a Book”. Whiting, Indiana, like Indiana itself, is a community that has a rich and diverse history.
