Legacy Projects > The James Whitcomb Riley Home Poetry Series The James Whitcomb Riley Home Poetry Series

The James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home, located 528 Lockerbie St. near the heart of downtown Indianapolis, will host its first annual poetry series during Indiana’s Bicentennial year! The theme for this year’s series is “Hoosier Poets: Past and Present.” The four participating authors will discuss James Whitcomb Riley and the literary legacy in Indiana before presenting and reading their own poetry. This year’s poets include: David Shumate on February 25th, Bonnie Maur on April 29th, Mary Sexson on June 23rd, and Karen Kovacik on September 1st. All readings will last from 6:30 pm till 8:00 pm and light refreshments will be provided.
