Celebrating the holidays and Indiana’s Bicentennial! The 7th Annual City of Batesville Community Tree Lighting takes place on December 1, 2016. The Batesville Beautification League will adorn downtown with festive lights and a State of Indiana wooden cut-out will be placed in each of their 25 floral displays located in the downtown area. The Batesville Area Historical Society’s featured exhibit, “A Historical and Magical Christmas” will include historic Christmas collections and Christmas tress displays. Bring canned goods to the Mayor’s Youth Council booth and support the local food pantry. Santa, carriage rides, street carolers, kettle corn, roasted marshmallows and a children’s lantern parade depicting early Hoosier settlers are just a few of the family-fun events in store for this annual holiday tradition.
