Legacy Projects > Lincoln Family Arrives 1816 Lincoln Family Arrives 1816

The Lincoln Specialty License Plate highlights Abraham Lincoln’s years in Indiana (1816-1830). He grew from a seven-year old sprout to a gangly teenager and then into a tall, proud 21-year old during his Indiana years. He honed his skills for reading and ciphering. With only a year and a half of schooling in his lifetime, Lincoln was able, nonetheless, to be the only president to receive a patent for an invention. The project showcases a young man who is both strong and able to work, but also strives so self-educate and shares the message “Lincoln Family Arrives 1816.”
