Legacy Projects > Wayne County Cultural Atlas Block Party Wayne County Cultural Atlas Block Party

We will celebrate Wayne County at the Cultural Atlas block party.  This event will celebrate our founding in 1806, ten years before Indiana became a state.  Wayne County is home to a diverse population and a tremendous amount of history relevant to Indiana as a whole. Attendees will be able to listen to historic recordings made at Gennett Records, sample ethnic foods, learn about Wayne County history, and win prizes, all in the spirit of community celebration! The Wayne County Cultural Atlas is an NEA-Our Town project which aims to create an ‘atlas’ of important places in Wayne County, Indiana, such as Overbeck Pottery, Gennett Records, the Starr Piano Company, four institutions of higher learning, and a number of museums and attractions.  Come learn more about your state’s history and our communities!
