Legacy Projects > Waterloo Train Station and New Town Hall Dedications Waterloo Train Station and New Town Hall Dedications

Waterloo will dedicate two public spaces and host open houses for a new Town Hall and a new Amtrak station. As in many frontier towns, the railroad is integral to the history of Waterloo, where an active rail freight corridor and one of the busiest Amtrak stops in Indiana are located. Over more than 10 years, the town has worked to restore the 1883 depot, move it closer to the boarding platform and return it to passenger use. The depot will have space for community meetings and events and is across from a beautiful park. The same day the depot is opened, Waterloo will dedicate a new town hall in a more modern space that was donated to the town. Waterloo is creating a legacy for the future that honors our history, our citizens and our visitors.
