Amber Alert
Amber Alert - TEST

Legacy Projects > Historic Irvington Halloween Festival Historic Irvington Halloween Festival

The Historic Irvington Halloween Festival, a weeklong celebration of long-running children’s traditions, runs October 24-29, 2016. The bicentennial logo will be prominent on posters in the Irvington Library’s poster contest. The festival kicks off Saturday, October 24, with the Pumpkin Carving Contest in Ellenberger Park and wraps up with the Street Fair October 29. That day, the streets of downtown Irvington close, and more than 200 vendors set up booths along the streets. A crowd of 30,000, many in costume, enjoy music, food, local artisans, costume contests, a parade, and the spookiest neighborhood in the city. The Street Fair and other festival events are sponsored by merchants from Irvington and its surrounding area. The Bicentennial logo will be printed on all Halloween Festival promotional material. The Bicentennial Commission will be invited to set up a table in the History Tour to promote the Bicentennial. We are discussing the purchase of Bicentennial flags to be flown on street lamps.
