Legacy Projects > Hoosier Band: The Brazil Concert Band Hoosier Band: The Brazil Concert Band
From Brazil’s historic Forest Park, the 159-year-old Brazil Concert Band is honoring our Hoosier legacy by celebrating our Bicentennial through the sounds of music by many Indiana composers. Each Sunday evening the band performs a one-hour concert of traditional band music, including marches, overtures, Broadway, Big Ban era, popular, folk and international music. For the Bicentennial, we are including Indiana music in each weekly show. Our legacy to preserve and perform traditional band music by Hoosier composers such as Fred Jewell, J. Gus Davis, Charles Duble and William Kiefer is being achieved through our theme, “Hoosier Band.”
