On Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., a ceremony to commemorate the 236th anniversary of the battle between Col. Augustin de la Balme and his warriors and Chief Little Turtle and his Miami tribe will be held to honor all those involved. The battle took place on or about November 5, 1780. The commemoration will take place in Whitley County, Indiana, near 7130 de la Balme Road. Members of Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution, Indiana Society Sons of the American Revolution and Indiana Children of the American Revolution will be involved in the ceremony.
