Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Legacy Projects > Bicentennial Living History Reenactment Bicentennial Living History Reenactment

This hands-on, first-person enactment of Blackford County settlers in 1833, for fifth-grade students will include establishing a small prairie community of Miami and settlers in an 1830 environment. The 37-acre property is natural prairie grasses on rolling ground. The buildings include a large barn with 100+-year-old wood from five Midwest barns and a soft-covered porch. The other building is a southern Indiana 1800s log cabin re-erected on the property.
