Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Legacy Projects > State Street Gateway Project State Street Gateway Project

The State Street Gateway Project is designed to promote all forms of travel throughout the City of West Lafayette. A cycle track will be constructed along the length of State Street and will immensely improve safety for the biking public. A roundabout is being constructed at the intersection of State and Tapawingo to improve the safety of turning movements and to make a “greener” intersection. Widened sidewalks will make it easier for pedestrians to move about West Lafayette’s downtown area. Along with these advances comes major improvements for ADA requirements, decorative lighting and storm water flow capacity among other positive changes. We wanted a lasting project for Indiana’s Bicentennial!
