Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Legacy Projects > Linton-Stockton Monarch Butterfly Club Linton-Stockton Monarch Butterfly Club

Members of the Linton-Stockton Monarch Butterfly Club planted a butterfly garden at Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area just south of Linton. The 8th grade students became concerned when they learned the Monarch population was dwindling. They started fundraising and even received a grant from the Greene County Foundation to plant a butterfly garden. The garden was planted in June with plans of another garden being planted in spring 2017 outside the newly constructed Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area Visitor’s Center. The students were able to make this a Bicentennial project.
