Indianapolis—The Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) and the City of Valparaiso’s Advisory Human Relations Council will conduct a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar for attorneys and legal professionals Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Valparaiso Police Department on 355 S. Washington Street in Valparaiso. The free training, titled Working at the Intersection of State and Federal Anti-Discrimination Laws , is worth 3.0 CLE credits.

"It is important that we reach every corner of the state in our education and outreach efforts,” said Jamal L. Smith, Executive Director of the ICRC. “We want to ensure that legal professionals are familiar with recent cases and any changes in legislation.”

The seminar, which begins at 1:00 pm, will be facilitated by local attorneys, ICRC and City of Valparaiso staff. The program will examine the relationship between local, state and federal discrimination laws from both a plaintiff and defendant perspective.
