The National Charter School Resource Center serves as a national center to provide on-demand resources, information, and technical assistance to support successful planning, authorizing, implementation, and sustainability of high-quality charter schools and to disseminate information about successful practices in charter schools. To view their resources pertaining to governing boards, please visit: http://www.charterschoolcenter.org/priority-area/governing-boards.

The National Association of Charter School Authorizers produces a series of issue briefs called "Authorizing Matters" that focus on specific authorizing issues. The variety of topics can provide boards with current thinking around charter school best practices. To view the briefs and other NACSA resources, please visit: http://www.qualitycharters.org/.

The Indiana School Boards Association maintains helpful resources for district school boards, including recommended board policies and helpful publications. While ICSB-authorized charter school boards are only required to maintain policies as set forth in the charter agreement - including policies regarding Conflicts of Interest and Code of Ethics – the list of policies provided by the ISBA offers additional guidance and ideas.  For a list of policies required by state law, please click here.  For a list of recommended policies, please click here.  Please visit the Indiana School Board Association's website for more information and helpful publications.
