The Indiana Commission on the Social Status of Black Males was, once again, proud to support Bloom Project Inc. with the Kings Feast Symposium 2k15.
Approximately 100 teen males came out to the Indiana Government Center South on Saturday, August 1, 2015 to gain life changing information that will serve to motivate them and mold them into tomorrow’s leaders. The day began with a welcoming from ICSSBM Vice-Chair Kenneth Allen and the master of ceremonies, Brent Lyle. The welcome was followed by words of encouragement from Pastor David Hampton.
This year's Kings Feast included a Career/College Fair. This portion of the event allowed the young men in attendance to speak directly to representatives from local Indiana colleges to learn about the steps that need to be taking as a teen to prepare them for a successful college matriculation and graduation. This was followed by a Network Luncheon in which the young men interacted with professional adult males to learn about what it takes to make it in their line of work.
The teens then went into their breakout sessions where they learned about the importance of leadership and mentorship. New to this year's event was an Awards Ceremony, recognizing youth and adults in attendance for their exceptional achievements. The Kings Feast Symposium 2k15 was made possible by the sponsors and over 100 volunteers who gave their time, effort and wisdom to the help guide our future leaders.
