About The Director

Jordan Teske-Harrison currently serves the state as the Director of the Indiana Commission for Women since August 2021. Jordan has an extensive career in strategic program development, education, public, and community relations within the U.S. Guatemala, and Spain.

Within her tenure, she’s secured the first Doula Program for the Indiana Women’s Prison, invested ICW as a title sponsor for the first-ever Black Women’s Expo in Elkhart, IN, and the Latinas Welding Guild’s Equitable Employment Program. This past year she served on the organizational team for IWC to host the International Women’s Day Conference 2023 and coordinated a Youth Symposium for seven local Indianapolis schools to present their service project ideas at the Indiana Statehouse during the legislative session.

Prior to her work with the state, Jordan served the Marion County Sherriff’s Office as their sole Senior Adult Education Instructor for Jail I and Hope Hall in partnership with Washington Township Adult Education, IPS, and IVY Tech. For the past three years, she’s mentored high school students and adults transitioning into postsecondary education with Indy Achieves.

Jordan is a Wisconsin native and made Indiana her home in 2019, where she is always a “CheeseHead” at heart but a “Hoosier by Choice.” She earned her B. A in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations with a Spanish minor and an M.S. in Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Where she also taught Introduction to Public Speaking (COMM 110) and was awarded the 2017-2019 Community Engagement Research Grant to consult the Action Coalition of South-Central Wisconsin, Inc.

Outside of her role, Jordan loves to travel and devote time to family and friends.
