The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) released the 2001 Risk Integrated System of Closure (RISC) Technical Resource Guidance Document (Technical Guide) on February 15, 2001 for use by environmental professionals seeking closure on sites through an IDEM remedial program. Updated guidance is available in the 2012 Remediation Closure Guide. However, responsible parties who met certain program-specific milestones before September 22, 2012 are eligible to continue using the 2001 Technical Guide. A companion manual, the RISC User's Guide (User's Guide), offers program-specific information on application of Technical Guide procedures.

This version of the Technical Guide incorporates subsequent corrections, updates, and revisions, where noted.
