Environmental Education teaches children and adults how to learn about and investigate their environment, and to make intelligent, informed decisions about how they can take care of it.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) is committed to educating Indiana's residents of all ages on environmental processes and issues. IDEM does this by providing programming designed to bring environmental education to schools, educators, organizations, and communities around the state of Indiana.
In observance of Earth Day, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) is offering free hands-on classroom presentations to Indiana elementary schools this April. IDEM employees across all disciplines volunteer to present fun, engaging, and informative presentations that provide students with examples of environmental careers while teaching them about our environment.
Additional information about the classroom presentations as well as registration is available on the Earth Day Celebration: Program Descriptions page. The deadline for schools to request presentations is March 3, 2017.
