Through the Equipment Application program, Hoosier Riverwatch provides enough testing kit supplies for you to test at least four times a year for two years (with more than twenty extra for practice, duplicates, and multiple sites). However, if you continue participating in the program, you will need more supplies! To assist us in tracking and justifing the expense of continuing to supply these materials, we have adopted a testing kit refill policy. The criteria are as follows:
To receive additional consumable Riverwatch monitoring supplies (CHEMets® Dissolved Oxygen and Phosphate replacement supplies, WaterWorks® Nitrite-N/Nitrate-N and pH test strips), you must:
These criteria will be determined on the basis of one "monitoring season" being January 1 to December 31 of a given calendar year. Supply refills will be granted upon request for reasons of supplies becoming expired or depleted due to monitoring activities. Supplies may be requested using the request form below.
To receive additional non-consumable supplies, due to breakage, loss, or expansion of a monitoring program, the above criteria must be met in addition to a written request sent to the Riverwatch program. This request must include a detailed and honest explanation of the need for replacement supplies. These items may include a transparency tube, aquatic thermometer, aquatic kick net, dip net, and E. coli testing materials (IF you have been through a special E. coli training workshop).
All supply requests will be handled under the sole discretion of Riverwatch staff and may be contingent upon availability of requested materials. The Hoosier Riverwatch program may discontinue this policy at any point in time, especially due to financial constraints.
