Agencies have two options for acquiring Sign Language interpreters:

1). Agencies have an opportunity to acquire Sign Language interpretation through FSSA, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS).  The DHHS procedures must be followed in order to determine if the agency may use the program.  If accepted the services will be provided at no cost to the agency.  If DHHS approves funding, the agency and DHHS will coordinate Interpreting, Video Remote Interpreting, or Computer Access Real-time Transcriptions available both live and remote, so State Agencies may provide services to individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.  To inquire about this program, the requesting agency should review the Interpreter Program for information, procedures, requestor form, and FAQs.

2). IDOA QPA for Face to Face Interpretation  allows American Sign Language to be acquired through the Contractor, Indy Translations.  This is a billable service to the agency.  The requesting agency coordinate the services through the Contractor, Indy Translations. Services are face to face only.
