On Monday, November 6, 2006, the Plainfield Re-Entry Educational Facility celebrated the facility being granted a nationally recognized charter of Toastmasters International. The Toastmaster's charter is named the Urban Unity Gavel Club and is the first official Toastmaster's charter inside a correctional facility.
