On October 9, 1984 Mr. Bob Gipson began his employment with the Indiana Department of Correction at the Indiana Boy's School as an Institutional Worker IV, working in the laundry. On July 13, 1986 Mr. Gipson was promoted to Maintenance Repairperson III, and within a year was promoted to Maintenance Repairperson II. On September 6, 1987 Mr. Gipson was promoted to Maintenance Carpenter Foreman I. On June 9, 1991 he was promoted to Maintenance Carpenter Supervisor III, and held this position for the next 13 years and 2 months. On two separate occasions Mr. Gipson was Acting Steam Plant and Water Treatment Supervisor. On August 1, 2004 Mr. Gipson was promoted to Physical Plant Director for the Plainfield Juvenile Correctional Facility.
Mr. Bob Gipson has continued his service as Physical Plant Director at the newly opened Plainfield Re-Entry Educational Facility. Mr. Gipson is instrumental in supervising resident work crews as well as completing necessary preventative maintenance projects and supporting the facility's physical structures. He says that he has been blessed to have served nearly 23 years at this amazing 138 year old facility and he'll continue to enhance and preserve this fine facility into its next 138 years.
