Retired Colonel Troy Joslin began his military career in 1986 as an enlisted soldier. In 1988, he received his commission and in 1989 graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education. Col. Joslin has 32 years of combat arms, logistics and quartermaster experience in the Indiana National Guard, including as Chief of Staff of the 38th Infantry Division. In 2013-2015 he commanded the 38th Sustainment Brigade, and in 2011-2013 served as the full-time executive officer for the 81st Troop Command. Col. Joslin also served as the INNG Human Resource Officer during 2013-2015. In 2007-2009, he commanded the 38th Division Special Troops Battalion, deploying to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, as part of the 38th Division Headquarters, where he served as “Mayor” (chief of operations) of the theater’s largest military operating base and busiest airfield, comprising almost 30,000 military and civilian personnel. Col. Joslin has attended various advance and staff courses, including the Army Command and General’s Staff College.
