April is Records Management Month

Celebrate with the Records Management team of the Indiana Archives and Records Administration (IARA) by learning about email management and participating in an online scavenger hunt throughout the month of April.

Email Spring Clean Party

When: April 19, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. EDT

Email can be a challenge - it can feel never-ending and ever-increasing! But the good news is that most of the email messages we send and receive either don't need to be maintained at all (duplicates and non-records) or have a very short retention period  Unsure how to find these? The RM Team can help!

This is your chance to finally clear out unneeded email from your inbox and folders in a live, hands-on event. We will describe the specific types of email that you can delete, give you step-by-step instructions and do a demonstration of the best way to locate each of those types of email. Attendees will have time to delete email during the session and ask questions of Records Management staff.

The team will also provide detailed instructions so that you can delete at your own pace later. Click here to register for the workshop.

Online Scavenger Hunt

When: April 3-28

Join the team for an online scavenger hunt on the IARA website throughout April.

Through April 28, state employees can hunt for records management treasure on IARA's Records Management pages. The first five people to answer all questions correctly win a prize.

Complete the questions in this form by Friday, April 28, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

2023 Community Listening Tour kicks off

HemantAfter an exhaustive 92-county tour in 2022, the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT) is back on the road with its expanded 2023 statewide Community Listening Tour, talking to local units of government and finding how we can work together to better protect against growing cybersecurity threats and attacks.

The tour will make stops in regional areas of the state - Northwest and East Indiana were stops in March. State legislators and other federal government representatives may be in attendance at these meetings as well.

IOT is seeking feedback on needed additional state resources and how the state should deploy the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (https://www.in.gov/iot/slcgp-committee/) funding.

Up Next: Fort Wayne (April 14) and Lawrenceburg (April 21).

Local governments across Indiana are partnering with IOT as a resource for free cybersecurity training, web hosting and access to cost-saving technology and equipment.

Learn more about the upcoming dates and what else IOT can offer local units of government here: https://www.in.gov/iot/local-government-services/.
