Teryl (Terry) Martin, Fountain County, appointed Chief Deputy Prosecutor November 9, 1999, the day after being sworn in as an attorney. Elected Fountain County Prosecutor in 2006, re-elected in 2010. Prior to November, 1999, served twenty years as a uniformed law enforcement officer in Fountain County, including service as a Covington Police Department patrolman, Fountain County Sheriff's Department Sheriff's Deputy, eight years as Fountain County Sheriff, and Veedersburg Town Marshal, a position I held while commuting to Indianapolis every night earning my law degree in the night division of the Indiana School of Law-Indianapolis. Also served a partial term as Clerk of the Fountain Circuit Court before returning to law enforcement while attending law school. Active with West Central Regional Community Corrections (a five county community corrections region) as a member of the board of directors for more than twenty years after writing the original grant in 1989 to start the program in Fountain County. Married with a combined family of six children, ten grandchildren (at least for now), who keep us busy by involving us in their school/recreational activities.
