Bioenergy is making a significant contribution to the Hoosier economy with the current production in ethanol and its byproducts worth $1.3 billion at current prices.

Indiana has a distinct advantage in energy production and distribution due to our feedstock availability, transportation infrastructure and proximity to consumers.  Looking to the future, this sector continues to hold tremendous promise for our state.

Indiana currently has 13 completed ethanol plants. The combined production of the plants exceeds 1.1 billion gallons of ethanol annually and uses approximately 431 million bushels of corn.
