The following is a description of the population characteristics that portray the female population in Indiana. When applicable, the state of Indiana is compared to other states within Region V, which includes Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. At other times, information representing women in general is given. It is hoped that this demographic information will help contribute to a better understanding of the various women's health issues that are addressed in this document.
