The overall mission of the Council is to work in partnership with Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH). Jointly, the Council and ISDH share the mission of assuring HIV-positive individuals and their families access to a comprehensive network of high quality care and treatment services.
The Indiana State Department of Health's Division of HIV/STD/Viral Hepatitis formed the Indiana Comprehensive HIV Services Planning and Advisory Council in 1999. The Council's purpose is to advise on the planning and development of a continuum of high quality, culturally sensitive, cost effective, client-centered health care and supportive services for persons with HIV disease and their families.
The Council is responsible for advising ISDH on HIV services. The membership of the Planning Council is designed to include service providers and those infected/affected with HIV.
