Welcome to the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) Health Care Engineering Program. The Health Care Engineering Program consists of engineering programs in support of health care licensing and certification programs for acute care and long term care providers, children's group home/private secure home and child care institutions (excluding child day care centers). ****PROCESS CHANGE EFFECTIVE APRIL 2, 2012****
Effective Monday, April 2, 2012, the Indiana State Department of Health, Health Care Engineering program (HCEP) will no longer accept hardcopy plan sets. All plans will be submitted through the new Electronic Plan Submission Process using the Revit Autodesk® “.dwf” format. The new process from a high level view will be:
Step 1: Application and any fee required will be submitted as normal
(see each application for complete instructions).
DO NOT SUBMIT PLANS WITH THE APPLICATION AND PAYMENT (if any).
Step 2: The project architect/engineer will receive an email with the assigned project number, instructions on submitting plans, and instructions for all required documents to be submitted over the State’s secure FTP site.

The mission of the Health Care Engineering Program is to improve health and safety of health care, school and childcare facilities. The Health Care Engineering Program reviews and approves construction plans for regulated facilities to assure they will be constructed in accordance with State and nationally recognized medical, health, safety and accessibility standards.
