On June 15, 1994 in Cause No. 39983, the Commission initiated an investigation into matters related to local telephone exchange competition within the state of Indiana. The acknowledgement by legislative, consumer and industry interests of the growing need for a generic review of local exchange telephone competition issues prompted this investigation
The Commission issued subsequent Orders in this cause addressing local telephone exchange competition even further.
In the Order dated December 19, 2001, the Commission outlined new streamlined regulatory administrative procedures for voluntarily negotiated interconnection agreements, adoption of previously approved interconnection agreements, and amendments to voluntarily negotiated interconnections agreements. The Commission utilizes a non-docketed procedure to process these agreements.
