Today the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved a settlement agreement between Sugar Creek Utility Company and the Office of the Indiana Utility Consumer Counselor that will reduce rates for the utility’s customers.
In Cause Numbers 41913 and 41881, the Commissioners unanimously approved a plan that will lower the cost of service from $80.84 a month to $65.00 a month for a period of two years, beginning July 1, 2001. Thereafter, the charges can be raised to a rate of $69.00.
Sugar Creek Utility Company provides drinking water and sewage disposal service to Heartland Resort and Riley Village in rural Hancock County.
