Justice Amos Wade Jackson
Justice Jackson was born June 25, 1904, in Versailles, Indiana, and died September 30, 1972, in Madison, Indiana.364
He received an A.B. from Hanover College in 1926. In 1925, while still a senior at Hanover, he was admitted to the Indiana bar.365 He served as Ripley County Prosecuting Attorney from 1937 to 1940.366 During World War II, he served as an associate attorney for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.367 He was appointed to the Indiana Supreme Court in 1959 and served on the court until he retired for health reasons in 1970.368
