2007 & 2008 Mortgage Foreclosure Rates in Indiana
This map highlights where mortgage foreclosure cases are highest across the state in 2007 and 2008. The Division of State Court Administration keeps data on the number and types of cases filed in courts across the state, including mortgage foreclosure cases There were 43,804 new foreclosure filings in 2007 and 45,394 in 2008 — a roughly 4% increase from 2007 to 2008. The red counties have the highest foreclosure rates. The light blue and gray has the lowest.
Counties with the highest rate of foreclosure in 2007 include Henry, Madison, Marion, Tipton and Warren Counties. Counties with high rates in 2008 include Henry, Huntington, Johnson, Madison, Marion and Tipton.
Between 2007 and 2008, 26% of counties reported a decrease in mortgage foreclosure filings, 72% reported an increase, and 2% reported no change.
