The Indiana Commission for Continuing Legal Education is offering a series of Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Trainings throughout the upcoming summer months in tandem with a series of mortgage foreclosure CLE training sessions for attorneys that is being sponsored by the Indiana Pro Bono Commission.
The Bloomington session will have both mediator and attorney training components. Mediators and attorneys will attend the morning session. Mediators will remain for the three-hour afternoon session after lunch, which is free for attendees of both the morning and afternoon sessions. Attorney participants will receive three hours of FREE CLE. Civil mediators participating in these specialized trainings will carry the distinction of being an Indiana Registered Foreclosure Mediator.
The mediation events across the state will train 125 currently registered Indiana Civil Mediators, preparing them to join the Indiana Supreme Court's robust initiative to address the mortgage foreclosure crisis affecting homeowners, lenders, neighborhoods, local governments and Indiana courts.
To ensure this important service reaches those in greatest need, the Commission for Continuing Legal Education is working closely with numerous Pro Bono Plan Administrators to help those with limited means access newly trained Registered Foreclosure Mediators. Together with the support of trained attorneys and judicial officers, Registered Foreclosure Mediators will help stem the rising tide of Indiana residential mortgage foreclosures.
Civil Mediators may register using the information below. Questions about these trainings may be directed to Justin R. Corbett, Project Manager of the Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program, at: 317-633-4283.
Attorneys may register by contacting Diane Walker, the local plan administration for District 10 (Greene, Lawrence, Monroe and Owen Counties) at 812-339-3610 or dist10probono@gmail.com or contact the Indiana Pro Bono Commission at 317-269-2415.
