Department: Madison County Courts
Salary: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 annually plus benefit package

Position Description

Madison County has three specialized problem solving courts that accept referrals from the courts of criminal jurisdiction.  Drug Court facilitates the supervision and treatment of defendants suffering from alcoholism and substance abuse.  Mental Health Court accepts referrals of certain defendants who, as a result of their mental health status or diagnosis, may benefit from mental health treatment, monitoring of medication, or intense case management.  Re-Entry court provides strict structure and supervision to defendants as they reintegrate into society after a prison sentence.
The Problem Solving Courts Coordinator will facilitate the administrative coordination of the work of Madison County’s Problem Solving Courts by being their primary public advocate, by encouraging collaboration among the problem solving courts, by identifying and promoting “best practices” by documenting and analyzing outcomes, and by pursuing all funding streams to ensure the economic viability and sustainability of these courts into the future.

Minimum Qualifications

BA or BS in social work, psychology, government, criminal justice, communications, or related field.  This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills.  Graduate education and experience with the courts, criminal justice, substance abuse and or mental health agencies is helpful.
